The event with Suffolk County (MA) District Attorney Rachael Rollins helped provide healing and new connections for those missing loved ones who were lost to community violence.

New Life’s personal, volunteer-driven approach has made it an unexpected, go-to resource for some of Boston’s largest nonprofit organizations addressing homelessness

Walpole, Mass. — New Life Furniture Bank of MA, a non-profit organization committed to providing gently-used, donated furniture and other necessary household items at no cost to clients recovering from homelessness, has announced that it has served more than 1,800 families and individuals since its creation five years ago. In addition, as the organization’s outreach continues to grow with frequent referrals from some of Boston’s largest agencies addressing homelessness, New Life volunteers have set a goal to help 650 clients and their families in 2019.

BOSTON — Mothers for Justice and Equality President Monalisa Smith has announced four recipients of the 2018 Courage and Conviction Award in recognition of community work that has come after standing firm in the presence of pain or tragedy to help others in their Boston and Greater Boston neighborhoods. In addition, Smith has announced two recipients of the Community Excellence Award in recognition of extraordinary agents of change. The honorees were saluted for their outstanding service on June 9 at a celebration aboard the Spirit of Boston with more than 200 guests.
